The most rewarding parts of being a dad are the little everyday moments. Like watching them learn and grow into thier own person, and seeing their ability to make the right decisions. But the part that really hits home is their unfiltered love, and how excited they get when I enter the room. Even if I was only gone 2 minutes. The random yells of "DADDY!", "Big hug!", and " I love you!" are guaranteed to put a smile on my face, and a warmth in my heart no matter what type of day I am having.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
The simple answer is because I want to, they deserve the best dad I can be, and I legitimately enjoy it. However the deeper answer is that growing up without a father isnt the easiest of childhoods, and it leaves marks. Some of those marks are teachable moments that come from watching the right and wrong way to be a parent. My goal as a father, is to give my sons the best possible start to life, and support them as they grow. To accomplish this goal I have to be the father they deserve 24/7/365.
How would you use the $25,000?
I would put $5,000 into both of my sons savings accounts. I would also spend $2,500 sprucing up our covered patio and expanding our shaded outdoor play area. $2,500 would also go towards expanding my woodworking tools or shop upgrades. $5,000 would go into the family savings. The remaining $5000 would be split four ways between myself, my wife, and our two sons for clothing and other miscellaneous items kind of like a shopping spree!
