The most rewarding part of being a dad is watching my children grow while realizing how much fatherhood is also changing me. Being a father has taught me patience, compassion, advocacy, and how to celebrate small victories. With my autistic son especially, I've learned that love doesn't require words to be powerful. Every milestone, connection, and smile reminds me why showing up matters. Ultimately, the greatest reward is knowing that both of my children know they are unconditionally loved.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
My faith inspires my vision of fatherhood. I want my children to experience through me a reflection of God’s unconditional love—a love that is patient, present, faithful, and never gives up on them. One day, I hope they look back and know that their dad supported, encouraged, and loved them in a way that reflects the greater love of God. Beyond my children, I strive to mentor young people who need a positive father figure and to be a strong example to other dads rearing autistic kids.
How would you use the $25,000?
I would use the $25,000 to strengthen and expand the Autism Dads Social Club, a growing nonprofit supporting fathers of children with autism and other special needs. This investment would help us reach more dads navigating fear, grief, or uncertainty and connect them to community, resources, and encouragement. Our goal is to help fathers embrace, love, and advocate for their children while becoming stronger dads. We want to help fathers move from isolation to brotherhood.
