The most rewarding part of being the father of my children is being present for them when they succeed or fall short. I can and always will be their biggest fan, cheerleader and supporter whether it's the grandest of accomplishments or smallest of achievement. It's my goal to always be present and help them always seek the path to making themselves feel valued, accomplished and content, regardless of the results. The miles traveled and the smiles shared create the enduring memories we cherish.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
I was limited on several levels with what I was able to accomplish in life with my father. He was 53 when I was born and as a single father, he had seen it all and knew what not to do or allow me to get involved in certain activities. I often wondered why we clashed so much but now I realize some of his greatest attributes were making himself present and allowing me to grow, build and strengthen my friendships with the best group possible and always protected me every day. I apply his wisdom.
How would you use the $25,000?
As father I think the exposure to history and culture is a paramount to understanding where you are to map your life and goals for the future. I would plan an amazing trip to Croatia to show them my family's roots and create the memories for them to take with them for life. I would also set aside some $$ to ensure they have access to some of the things that I wasn't afforded being in a large family of 9 with a single father. Creating memories and a solid future is my goal every day of the week.
