When I see my kids making good choices and accomplishing things on their own without even being urged on by my wife and I, it makes me beam. It's so rewarding to see them struggle, work, grow, and thrive. I've tried hard to teach and mold fantastic people who can make an impact on the world. They certainly aren't perfect, but they are becoming something wonderful more and more each day.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
Because if I don't, my kids will say, "Wow how did we get such an incredible mom and such a dirt bag dad!?" I gotta keep up! (I'm only partly kidding.) Seriously, being the best dad I can be is the most worthwhile pursuit there is. Nothing, is more important than showing up for my kids. I need to be there for them in the ways they want and the important ways they don't want! Teaching them good lessons and guiding them through hard trials. It's a challenge that I fail at and persist at again.
How would you use the $25,000?
This would be able to fund a mission trip with my family to help serve people in need. There are so many worthwhile projects that people can volunteer at to help people. I was recently daydreaming about a trip to Cote d'Ivoire with my family where we could work on a project building schools for beautiful children in need. What an eye opening adventure that would be for my kids! They'd see the world through a different lens. They'd learn about real challenges that they're insulated from.
