Stacking years of memories learning how to be a dad and seeing them add up into two really wonderful human beings. My mistakes were many and some of the seasons of our lives were challenging but every bit of it has proven a reward. Now my adult children have started their own families and I am getting an entirely new set of rewards. I am fortunate to work professionally where I use the skills and lessons I learned through fatherhood to help others grow too. It all makes me so happy.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
I had an unorthodox youth and family situation and wasn’t sure I could do the job. My wife, Michelle, had confidence in me and persuaded me that we could do it. I knew pretty clearly what kind of dad I wanted to be and worked to be that man and that strategy has brought me so much joy. I have hoped to make an impact and I love to see people grow. In the end I want to leave the world just a little better than it was before I started.
How would you use the $25,000?
Absolutely by making memories with my family. We work hard to make time to be together as often as we can and we love a little adventure. Time, expense and geography are always a lot to manage and $25,000 would make years more fun for us all.
