The most rewarding part of being a dad is seeing those moments when the dots finally connect. When your child understands why you made a certain decision, or realizes that even when something was hard, you were trying to do what was best for them. It’s also the little moments of gratitude and genuine connection. A hug, a conversation, or hearing that something I did mattered to them. I haven’t always had those moments as a dad, which honestly makes me appreciate them even more when they come.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
Parenthood hasn’t always come easy to me. From adopting my youngest daughter to navigating single parenting, I’ve learned just how valuable every year and every season with my girls really is. It goes by incredibly fast. Over the last few years especially, I’ve made a conscious effort to reprioritize my work and life so I can be more present. My mindset is pretty simple: no regrets. I can’t control every circumstance, but I can control what I do with every opportunity I’m given with my girls.
How would you use the $25,000?
I’d use the $25,000 for a mix of responsibility and making memories. Right now, paying down debt would give me some breathing room and peace of mind, allowing me to keep my focus on my girls. I’d also put a deposit down for my oldest daughter’s graduation party venue and finally take both of my girls on a cruise. Being able to give my girls an experience we’ll always remember would mean a lot. And knowing my youngest, a few dollars will probably go toward NeeDohs too! 😂
