The most rewarding part of being a dad is watching my children become who they were created to be and knowing I had a hand in helping them get there. I’ve learned that fatherhood isn’t about being perfect—it’s about being present, consistent, loving, and showing up, especially when life gets hard. Seeing my children grow, pursue their dreams, and become strong individuals is a reward no title, degree, or accomplishment could ever match.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
I strive to be the best dad I can be because my children deserve the best of me, not what’s left of me. I want them to always know they are loved, supported, protected, and never alone. More than anything, I want my life to model perseverance, faith, sacrifice, and responsibility. My greatest legacy won’t be my degrees or accomplishments—it will be the people my children become and the father they remember me being.
How would you use the $25,000?
I would use the $25,000 to give back to fathers. During Men’s Mental Health Month in June, I want to host an event that celebrates dads while creating a safe space for men to focus on their mental and emotional well-being. As a mental health professional, I work with fathers and men every day. This prize would help me turn that work into something bigger—honoring dads, supporting their mental health, and reminding them that they deserve support too.
