Seeing him grow and develop, learning new skills, teaching him things from when I was little and the smile he gets from the simple things makes everything about being a dad worth it. Getting to spend time with a mini version of myself is also a lot of fun! Being able to experience the love that my father showed me, and to be on the giving end of it now is truly a blessing!
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
The world needs more smiles, more kindness, more love for one another. I want my son to know that he has someone he can look up too, knowing that I try and don't give up when things start to get tough. I want to do what I can to be an example for others who may be going through similar challenges that I have faced. Overall, I want my son to have nothing but confidence that I will always be there for him AND my wife to help them navigate the challenges of life.
How would you use the $25,000?
I would use it to help cover the cost for his Kidney transplant and to get rid of our debt. He's already had throat reconstruction, double cataract surgery, a lung biopsy, colostomy surgery, PD catheter placement and removal and placement again. We've managed thus far, but it still takes a toll. But being able to cover that cost and the lingering bills would help tremendously.
