The most rewarding part of being a dad is watching two little girls slowly discover the world and realizing I get to shape how they see themselves in it. Every hug, bedtime story, dance party in the kitchen, and conversation becomes an opportunity to teach them they’re deeply loved, capable, and never alone. They think I’m teaching them about life, but the truth is they’re teaching me every day how to be more patient, more selfless, and more intentional. Becoming their dad made me a better man.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
I know what it feels like to grow up wishing for more time, more guidance, and more presence. That doesn’t make me bitter, it gives me purpose. Every day I have the opportunity to become the father I once needed. I want my daughters to grow up never questioning whether they were loved, valued, or protected. If they remember one thing about me years from now, I hope it’s that Dad showed up consistently, sacrificially, and with unconditional love.
How would you use the $25,000?
I’d use the $25,000 to invest in what matters most: my family. It would help us relocate to a place where our daughters can grow up enjoying the outdoors, exploring, and making memories together year-round. It would also allow me to continue encouraging other fathers to choose presence over perfection. If our family’s story inspires even one dad to be more intentional with his children, this opportunity will have a lasting impact far beyond the prize.
