Being a dad to my two precious sons is one of my greatest blessings. One teaches me to see the world through a beautiful, unique lens, while the other reminds me that every mind has its own rhythm. They’ve taught me patience, compassion, and unconditional love. Being a father figure to young men without one allows me to give what I know every child deserves: someone who sees them, believes in them, loves them, and never gives up on them.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
I strive to be the best dad I can be because I know what it feels like to grow up without one. As a foster child, I lived in six different homes by the age of six and grew up without knowing my father or having the love and stability I needed. Today, I see fatherhood as my second chance; a chance to give my sons and countless young men what I always wanted and needed: love, guidance, presence, and someone who never gives up on them.
How would you use the $25,000?
If I were blessed to receive the $25,000, I wouldn’t see it as just a prize;I’d see it as an opportunity to create more hope. I would invest it into Big Homie Lil Homie Mentoring, helping provide life-changing experiences, resources, mentorship, and opportunities for young men who need someone to believe in them. I’d also use part of it to support families in need. Every dollar would become a seed of hope, because I know firsthand what it means when someone chooses to invest in a child’s future.
