The most rewarding part is seeing your kid just being a kid who feels safe, secure, seen, and supported as they learn and develop. It’s the moments where you realize that you’re their safe place to come play and be silly without being yelled at; where they can let out their big emotions and get help processing them instead of punished; where they can be afraid and know their protected while they conquer their fears; and where they feel so comfortable that they prefer your arms over their bed.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
The phrase “be who you needed when you were younger” is one of the principles that I live by when it comes to children. So as far back as I can remember I have always wanted to be a “super dad” like we saw on TV growing up because that’s who I always wished I had. I have always said that id know I “made it” when I’m a successful family man and my children are thriving. Now that Im a dad, I measure my successes and daily wins by how well I show up as a father. I refuse to lose.
How would you use the $25,000?
If I won I would split the money and use part of it to invest or open a savings account for my babies’ education. The rest would go towards expenses and bills associated with daily childcare with a chunk being set aside to make sure that they have access to all of the opportunities and fun that I never had as a kid because we couldn’t afford it like trips to Disney, music & dance lessons, Girl Scouts, Jack & Jill, little league sports, and summer camps etc.
