Watching my son, grow into his own self, watching him, strive to succeed and excel in school. Looking at him and noticing how he watches me and looks up to me like I looked up to my father who we lost five years ago it makes me appreciate being a dad even more to be that special role model in his life, like my father was to me and my siblings. Just being able to encourage him and let him know he can be anything he wants to be.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
I try to be the best dad I can be because that’s where my father did for us and that’s what he instilled in us. It’s only now as an adult that I can realize all the sacrifices that my parents made, and those are the same sacrifices. I plan to continue to make to ensure that my son has all the advantages he can have in this lifetime so he can become his best self. I don’t want him to be me. I want him to be better than me in every way.
How would you use the $25,000?
Probably would fix some things on our family home. It needs to be fixed then I would probably take my son on another vacation somewhere out of the country because he’s been begging for that ever since we took him on his first cruise at five years old. He’s 11 years old now, so if I were to win, I would really enjoy taking him on another trip somewhere outside of the country. I own a 2007 Dodge charger that he loves and I’d get it repainted and tuned up so he can have it when he can drive.
