Watching my use things I teach them, either coaching them in martial arts and seeing them compete, or the way we clean the house and seeing them remember anything I taught them. Really seeing the lessons I’m teaching them get used right in front of me, it makes me feel as if I’m doing my job no matter how much money is or isn’t in my bank account.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
Because I never had one, my dad was in and out of jail and on drugs all my life. Haven’t had contact with him since I was 15. I knew when I had kids I would not only be present, but I would be an impact. Support their goals, show them what discipline, accountability, and hard work really is, and try to put them in a position to be better parents than I ever could hope of being, and I pride myself on always being there and making time for the little, as well as the big moments in their lives!
How would you use the $25,000?
Part would go to catching up on bills, I lost a job due to the company potentially going under, and I found more employment but still playing catch up, I would use part of it to get us a slightly bigger rent house so they could finally have their own rooms! I want to be a firefighter so I would use part of it for emergencies while I took my classes and joined the academy, I would use most of it for their future, put it in savings and add to it over time so they could have a head start as adults!
