The most rewarding part of being a dad is seeing my son grow, hearing him laugh, and knowing I’m part of every step. Even with law school and life after the Marine Corps, being present for his play, his curiosity, and his small victories gives me a purpose nothing else can match. His joy makes every long day worth it, and my family is my “why” in life.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
I strive to be the best dad I can be because my family is my purpose. My father and grandfathers built a legacy of growth, taught me the skills I needed to work hard and succeed, and gave me a better life than they had. I want to continue that for my son. I want him to see a strong role model, grow with confidence, learn the skills to do great things, and use them to help people. My wife and son deserve my best, and I work for that every day.
How would you use the $25,000?
I would use the $25,000 to take care of the projects around our home that I’ve had to shelve since becoming a student again. There’s equipment I’ve needed and repairs I’ve wanted to make, all to improve our family’s space. I rarely buy anything for myself, so every dollar would go toward the betterment of our home and giving my wife and son a place that grows with us.
