Watching Rory figure things out on her own! That spark when something clicks and she realizes she did it herself. Being trusted with her questions, her fears, her wins, big and small. Every day she teaches me something new about patience and wonder. That’s the part no promotion or paycheck could ever match.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
She’s watching everything. How I treat my wife, friends and people. How I handle setbacks, and keeping my word. I don’t get a redo on these years with her. So I show up fully: present, patient, consistent. Being her dad is the most important role I’ll ever have, and she deserves my best effort at it every single day, not just on the good days.
How would you use the $25,000?
Practical, but it’s really for our home and Rory’s future and my wife’s. A new roof protects the house we’re building our life in. A bigger shed gives us room to grow. And a solid start to her college fund means one less thing standing between her and whatever Rory dreams up next until my wife and I are empty nesters.
