Seeing Sage become her own little person. Every new word, laugh, hug, and moment she reaches for me reminds me that being her dad is bigger than anything I could accomplish for myself. She’s still young, but she’s already taught me patience, responsibility, and a kind of love I didn’t know existed. The most rewarding part is knowing I get the privilege of helping shape her childhood while she’s shaping the man I’m becoming.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
Because I know what it feels like to grow up without the childhood every kid deserves. My upbringing was rough, and becoming Sage’s dad made me determined to break that cycle. She only gets one childhood, and I want hers filled with love, safety, consistency, and memories she’ll cherish. I don’t need her to remember a perfect dad—I want her to remember a present one who showed up, kept his word, and made sure she never had to question how deeply she was loved.
How would you use the $25,000?
I’d turn it into stability and opportunity for Sage. I’d put a portion directly into savings for her future, strengthen our financial foundation, and make sure she has a safe, comfortable home with everything she needs. But I’d save some for experiences too like trips, firsts, and memories we can create as she grows. $25,000 wouldn’t just be money to spend in my eyes, I’d use it to give my daughter something every dad wants for his child. a stronger start.
