Seeing my kids take initiative and tackle a project themselves. They know I'm always there to help if they hit a roadblock, but them going through the effort is the best. I also love seeing my random personality traits portrayed through them. Sometimes it's randomly pulling up a movie scene to reference an event that just happened, and other times it's the less desirable things like starting a dozen projects without finishing the first. Seeing them excited, happy, and accomplished is amazing!
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
I think being a great dad is part of being a good person over all. There's enough anger and hate already in this world, and showing by example to be kind and helpful, will hopefully be multiplied through my kids. I think the better I can be to them, the better they can be to each other, and others in the world. Plus, you never know when you might need a kidney, or someone to help keep you out of a retirement home!
How would you use the $25,000?
I would put part of it towards the vehicles my two kids just recently bought, that we are currently restoring. I would put part towards some new tools that would make some of my home projects go faster. There's a little older man that lives next to us that doesn't have the money for proper dentures, and I think it would be a great example for my kids if we were able to help him eat and feel better. And of course, we would take a family trip, likely to the grand canyon and petrified forests.
