It’s knowing that, to my boys, I’m Dad. I’m the person they run to when they’re excited, scared, hurt, or just want to be held. Watching them grow and seeing little pieces of me in them is something I can’t really put into words. There are hard days, but then one of them hugs me, calls for me, or falls asleep on my chest and suddenly none of the hard stuff matters. Being their dad is the greatest privilege of my life.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
Because one day my boys are going to be grown men, and I know the way I love them now will stay with them. I want them to remember a dad who was there. A dad who played with them, listened to them, protected them, taught them, and loved them no matter what. I know I won’t always get it right, but I hope when they’re older they never have to question how much their dad loved them.
How would you use the $25,000?
I’d use it to give my family something that’s hard to put a price on. more security and more time together. I’d take care of some of the financial weight that comes with raising a young family, put money away for my boys’ future, and use a little of it to make memories together while they’re still this little. They won’t be this age forever, and I’m realizing more and more just how fast these years go.
