Watching my daughter grow and knowing I get to be there for it. The hugs, the laughs, the random “Papiiii!” moments nothing compares to that. Being a dad has taught me patience, sacrifice, and a different kind of love. Some days are exhausting, especially balancing school and life, but then she smiles at me or grabs my hand and somehow none of that matters. Being her dad is easily the best job I’ve ever had.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
Because one day my daughter will look back on her childhood, and I want her to remember that Papi was there. Not just financially, but actually present. I want her to know she was loved, supported, protected, and always had someone in her corner. I’m back in school at 39 chasing a completely new career, and a huge part of that is showing her that it’s never too late to bet on yourself and build something better for your family.
How would you use the $25,000?
I’d use it to take some pressure off my family while I finish school and transition into my new career. Going back to school full-time while raising a young daughter requires a lot of sacrifice from both me and my wife. Some would go toward our family’s expenses, and I’d put a portion away for my daughter’s future. Nothing flashy. Just a little more breathing room while we work toward the life we’re trying to build for her.
