Watching my kids grow up and do things I’ve never had a chance to do. I live through them and it feels so good to see them doing better than me.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
I had a rough time growing up and didn’t know what it was to have a father. I learned from a lot of older men and women morals and manners. My mother did the best she could and my journey made me the man I am today. I don’t want my kids to grow up without me in their life. For me as a kid that’s all I wanted was to have my family around. To have my father to talk to. I met my father at 28 years old and by then it was too late. I held no grudges or resentment. He didn’t keep contact and vanished.
How would you use the $25,000?
I would put most of it into a savings account for my kids college education and help take care of my mother with some. As a man I understand that it was hard for her and my boys see how much I want to change that. I know they are looking to me to teach them how to be good men.
