Coming home after a long day at work and having all my kids run up to hug me is the best feeling. Watching my oldest achieve his goals and dreams and watching me second oldest work her way up to achieve hers. My oldest is in the Air Force and was Airmen of the quarter this year, has been promoted ahead of his peers twice. My daughter volunteers at church, has 3.9 GPA, she's a junior in HS, is applying to the Air Force Academy to become a officer in the Air Force. My hard work is paying off.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
I want my children to have what I didn't growing up. More importantly i want them to have memories of us where they can look back and say "rememeber that one time....." Growing up we were poor so my dad was always working. My mom was always busy keeping the house and food on the table. Life was moving fast and we were chasing a state of comfort. I want my children to have a comfortable childhood and have fun memories growing up. I think it would be awesome for them to see me on TV!
How would you use the $25,000?
Honestly, pay off debt that stopped us from taking mini staycations as a family. It's been a couple years now that we haven't left the house. No more road trips. Whatever extra we have left goes into emergency fund or make extra payments to pay off debt. We've been planning on visiting my son. He is stationed in Alaska. He's been gone for 2 years now. Even though we FaceTime him everyday, we miss him. We all miss him and I know he misses us too.
