The most rewarding part is seeing how safe my son feels with me. When I get home, he becomes my little shadow. Whether I’m cleaning the yard, cleaning around the house, or just walking into another room, he wants to be right beside me. To me, that means he trusts me and feels safe with me. It’s such a simple thing, but seeing that bond reminds me that I must be doing something right.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
Growing up I was lucky to have my dad present in my life through his actions I grew up looking up to him. I know firsthand how much having a loving, present father can shape a child’s future. Now that I’m a dad, I want to give my son that same feeling I had growing up giving my son and future son the comfort of knowing I will always there. I hope I can fill those shoes and one day, they’ll look at me the same way I looked at my dad.
How would you use the $25,000?
My wife and I are expecting our second boy, and our dream now is to give our sons a permanent place to call home. We currently rent month to month, so there’s always uncertainty about how long we can stay. If we were fortunate enough to win, we’d put the money toward a down payment on a home where our boys can grow up with stability, security, and memories of their own. Anything remaining would go toward their 529 college savings.
