The most rewarding part is watching my two little girls grow into their own personalities and knowing I get to help shape the women they’ll become. At 2.5 and 1, they already teach me as much as I teach them. Seeing their faces light up when I walk through the door, hearing “Daddy,” and knowing I’m their safe place puts everything else in life into perspective. There’s no accomplishment I’m more proud of than being their dad.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
Because my daughters will learn what strength, kindness, integrity and love look like partly by watching me. I served our country as an Army Ranger, but becoming a dad gave service an entirely new meaning. I want my girls to grow up knowing their dad showed up both when it was easy and when it wasn’t. More than anything I could ever tell them, I want the way I live my life to teach them to work hard, serve others, love their family and never quit.
How would you use the $25,000?
I’d use every dollar on my girls; some would go into savings for their future, I’d build them the backyard playset they’re at the perfect age to enjoy, and I’d take our family on a trip to make memories together. They’re only this little once. I’d love to give them something they can enjoy today, experiences they’ll hopefully remember forever, and a head start for whatever dreams they decide to chase one day.
