The most rewarding part about being a dad is being there for the moments that matter. After years as an over-the-road truck driver, I missed a lot of memories. Now that I’m home every night, I get to cherish every moment with my kids—whether I’m keeping up with my daughter’s soccer schedule, “the new lingo” or building things and playing Minecraft with my son. Being present, making memories, and watching them grow is everything.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
I lost my dad at age 3, so growing up without a dad was hard for me. I think that’s why I strive to be the best dad because my kids deserve a father who is present, loving, and supportive. After spending years on the road and missing important moments, I want to make every moment count now. I want my kids to grow up knowing they were loved, supported, and always had a dad who showed up for them. Being their dad is the most important role I’ll ever have.
How would you use the $25,000?
I would first take my family on a well-deserved vacation to make some unforgettable memories together. Then, I’d put the rest toward a down payment on our first home. It’s been a dream of mine for years to buy a house my family can truly call home—a place where we can build a future, grow together, and create countless new memories. That would mean absolutely everything to me.
