The most rewarding part is watching my boys become capable, kind young men and knowing I had a hand in preparing them for life. Whether we are fixing a vehicle, building something, laughing together or learning from a mistake. Those moments matter. I don’t need them to grow up thinking dad was perfect. I want them to remember that Dad was Present, taught them what he knew and always showed up.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
Because my boys are watching more than they are listening. The way I work, treat people, handle hard days and care for our family will help shape the men they become. I want to give them more than things. I want to give them skills, confidence, character and memories. One day, I hope they take what I taught them, improve on it, and pass those lessons on to their own children.
How would you use the $25,000?
I would use the $25,000 to help launch Generation Built, a hands-on community project I’m creating to bring parents, local tradespeople and businesses together to teach kids practical life skills. I want kids learning to use tools, fix things, build, provide and serve their community. The money would help provide tools, safety gear, materials and experiences where families can learn and build together.
