The most rewarding parts about being a dad for me: * Building a strong, reliable environment for my daughter to grow in. * Teaching her how we should treat others and ourselves * Providing support and space for her to feel and navigate all of our emotions (especially the tough ones) * Knowing that she can trust I am always here for her no matter what she needs. * But most of all having the honor of being a part of her journey even just a little bit.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
It's critical for me to be trustworthy and loyal, ensuring she knows she can always rely on me. I take pride in providing for her, extending further than just cooking, keeping her safe and providing a home in a physical sense. I strive to show her what courage, compassion and tenacity can/should look like. Towards the ones we love, herself and the world around her. Ultimately, I want to instill values that reflect my love and commitment to her and her mother that she carries long after I'm gone.
How would you use the $25,000?
Our daughter is 16 and unfortunately my wife and I suffered layoffs that depleted our savings to survive. I would use some to help pay for her first car, some to possibly repair it and teach her things like how to change flats and oil. Then the remainder would go into a savings that would help her get started with college or to start her life of indepedence should she choose that route. If there's some left then taking her to Disney world because we never were able when she was little.
