For me, the most rewarding part about being a dad is being able to do all the things that I wished my dad did for me. Don't get me wrong, my dad was great growing up. But I wish he took the time to hug me more, tell me that he loves me, read with me, be silly with me. And now that I am a dad, I have the opportunity to do all those things with my son and seeing the smile on his face and hearing his boisterous laugh and hearing him say "I love you daddy." That to me is priceless.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
I strive to be the best dad that I can be because I want to be the blueprint that my son has when he thinks of what it means to be a man. And one day in the very far future when he becomes a dad. I want to be my son's superhero and role model. I want him to know that he can rely on me, trust me, and count on me to be there for him no matter what it is. To have that kind of bond, love, and trust with my son is what makes me strive to reach the pinnacle of being a dad.
How would you use the $25,000?
I would use the $25,000 to secure a bigger home for my family. Everyone knows that right now the economy is very tough and we are all trying our best to make it. My wife and I want to grow our family and having a bigger home would definitely help. It would allow for our son and his eventual sibling to have a place that they can build lasting memories, a place to run around and wreak havoc, and more importantly they will have a place they can call home.
