The most rewarding part is watching my children become who God created them to be. I get a front-row seat to their growth while realizing they're also growing me. The conversations, unexpected hugs, lessons learned and obstacles overcome mean more than any title or accomplishment. One day they'll build lives of their own, and I pray that something I taught, modeled or sacrificed helps them navigate life with faith, confidence and character.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
I strive because my children deserve more than what I can provide. They deserve who I am. I know what it feels like to need things from a dad that wasn't always there, so I chose to turn those gaps into a blueprint. I want my son to see how a man loves, leads and serves, and my daughter to know her worth before the world tries to define it. I won't always get fatherhood right, but they'll never have to question whether their dad showed up and chose them.
How would you use the $25,000?
I wouldn't use $25,000 just to give my children more things; I'd use it to give them more possibilities. I'd invest in their education and future, create experiences our family will remember long after the money is gone, and strengthen our family's financial foundation. I'd also use a portion to serve families in my community. I want my children to see that a blessing isn't measured only by what you receive, but by what you build and who you bless with it.
