My son’s laughter, but also watching him learn new things like how to use a rake, or which garbage can the leaves go in. Also seeing him challenge himself to jump off bigger things or go down the next larger slide. Anytime he develops or learns something new it makes me proud, and very fulfilled.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
Every kid needs a dad, especially an attentive one. So many kids have absent dads or no dad in the picture and having a Dad is just as important for a child’s development as macronutrients are. I want my son to be the most caring, strong, smart and handy kid he can be, he can’t be that without someone to role model that for him. That comes in many forms, from being generous, to picking up his toys to him, attempting to help me on a car project. He needs me and the future needs him.
How would you use the $25,000?
We always give 10% of our income to charity, so $2500 would go to that. My son has been climbing a lot, so a playset with ladders and monkey bars would be on our shopping list. We bought a 4 door truck to haul him and his brother around in, we would pay the rest on the loan off on it. The rest of the money would go into his college savings account which would give him a huge head start on compound interest.
