My wife had multiple miscarriages prior to our 1st born. Including a devasting one after our gender reveal. We lived months in depression. Therefore, to witness every milestone of my girls from their 1st steps to their 1st words is truly a blessing. The gleam in their eyes when I praise them and the joy in their smiles when I pick them up from school is pure bliss. I love seeing their “aha!” faces when they discover something new, like realizing that devices don’t work without batteries.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
Fatherhood means even more to me because of my childhood. I didn’t know who my biological father was until I was 13, & my "birth" father passed away when I was five. While battling cancer my mom told me the truth. Unfortunately I experienced a void and absences of guidance that I never want my girls to feel. Every night, I ask God for the health, wisdom, and strength to be the father and husband my family deserves. I’m grateful to give my daughters the love, security, and presence I once needed.
How would you use the $25,000?
With out my wife's permission? I’d put a portion toward their future—whether that’s a college fund, an IUL, or even purchasing land that could be worth investing in. With the rest, I’d create memories. I’d love to build a swimming pool so I can teach them how to swim & play outside. Or maybe family trip where we all have fun together. To me, the $25k wouldn’t just be a prize. It would be an opportunity to spend more quality time with them, & create life long memories.
