Being a father of 3 girls and 3 boys, the most rewarding part is seeing them all learn from my failures and turn them into accomplishments. Knowing this world isn’t always fair and taking what they know to create their own paths. Sticking together and supporting one another they communicate even in their adult age. They all come together to support their autistic brother. Knowing they will be mentally and emotionally mature when I am no longer here.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
To be completely transparent, I grew up without my dad in my life. A lot of false promises and broken dreams that still haunt me to this day. I always told myself that when I had children I would never make a promise that I wouldn’t keep. Just like honoring your parent as a child your days will be longer. I feel the same as a parent, give your all to the blessing given to you in your children. God will bless you exponentially.
How would you use the $25,000?
I would use it as a down payment on my dream home sitting on 6 acres. I would utilize the land to build a transition home for children entering adulthood after high school. Providing services such as; vocational, occupational, cooking, employment help including everyday activities and task. This home would also provide generational wealth for my children. I hope to retire in 5 years and this would be something I would love to put on my headstone.
