Honestly I question how good of a job I'm doing all the time. I want them to like me but I'm not here to just be their friend. 7 kids. A 13 year old down to a 3 month old. When I get home several kids run out to greet me after I park. Once I make it inside there are multiple children literally jumping up and down cheering "Dad's home!" as I walk inside. It's like something off a sitcom. In those little moments of joy, I know I'm doing a good job. My kids love me and everything is okay.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
The work is never done and I'm not perfect. We've been blessed to be in a situation where my wife can stay home to raise the little ones and run the house. (A FULL time job!) So my family is relying on me. Little eyes are watching my every move and copying me. Being mindful of all this can feel like a heavy burden at times. Showing up when and where I'm supposed to and having Faith that God will work it all out is hopefully being noticed as well.
How would you use the $25,000?
With such a large family it can be difficult at times to get everybody everything they need to be the best version of themselves. The teenager doesn't necessarily love her 2-year-old brother going through all her things. We've been looking at moving into a bigger house with a bigger yard and $25,000 would help make the down payment on our forever home that would get everybody the space they need. Plus these kids eat a ton.
