Realization and Understanding. Realizing the sacrifices my own father has taken and continues to take to keep his legacy going and the understanding that my own kids will hopefully one day appreciate the sacrifices that I've made so that their path in life is just a little easier than mine.... just as my father did for me. When something clicks and your children suddenly understand something that previously they didn't that is the absolute best reward.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
No one asked them to be my kids. They didn't really have a choice. And the one thing most kids don't understand is that while I was watching them grow up, they were also watching me grow up. No one teaches you how to be a dad and well you make mistakes and you try to not make them twice. We never know if we were good dads so we just keep doing our best because they deserve it. We all deserve a dad who loved and believed in us, so thats what I do for them, I try to be the best dad I can be.
How would you use the $25,000?
My lady will insist I do something for myself but that's a skill I don't really have. I always think about what would bring the most joy to all involved. I'd probably get some new tools so I can keep fixing things around the house but anything big would be something I can watch my family enjoy.... cause that would be for me. Them being happy and content is always for me.
