Undoubtedly, it’s watching the concepts of giving generously, loving unconditionally, and winning humbly not just click in their minds but being applied in real time. In a society that’s so hyper-focused on clicks, likes, and shares on digital content, there aren’t many things that bring me more joy or affirmation in my approach to fatherhood than a teacher, church member, or stranger complimenting my boys having big hearts & being inclusive of all their peers. Their character > accomplishments.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
For 2 very distinct reasons. (1) I must steward the gifts God has given me, and if I choose to be a passive dad, I’m failing God and wasting the gift of fatherhood. After all, my kids are the only things I can bring to Heaven with me. (2) These little boys are the legacy I’ll leave behind, and they’re also the future of this country. Whether they grow up to be welders, coaches, doctors, or pastors, their contributions to society tomorrow are largely dependent on what I’m pouring into them today.
How would you use the $25,000?
A portion would be split between our boys’ college funds, while the residual will go toward the down payment on a new home.
