The most rewarding part is knowing I get to be “Dad” to three incredible kids. My daughters have taught me to slow down, be present and find joy in ordinary moments. My son Ramsey, though his life was far too short, taught me that the value of a life isn’t measured in years, but in the love and impact packed into them. Being their dad has made me stronger, softer and more grateful for every moment I get.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
Because three little people call me Dad, and I want that word to always mean something: safety, love, laughter, strength and home. I want my daughters to grow up knowing they were loved without condition and that their dad always showed up. And I want to live a life my son Ramsey would be proud to watch from above. My kids don’t need a perfect dad. They deserve one who is present, keeps learning and never stops showing up.
How would you use the $25,000?
I’d use it to build something that lasts for my family. After losing our son, Ramsey, this year, we began creating a backyard garden in his memory. It is a place beneath his willow tree where our family can sit together, surrounded by flowers, butterflies and the sound of water. All things he didn’t get to experience. I’d finish that sanctuary, create an incredible backyard for my daughters to grow up in, and make our home a place where all three of my children will always be part of our story.
