I love being a part of someone’s life as they grow up. It’s amazing to teach my toddler how to work hard and love his family. I’m proud when I’m mowing the lawn and see him using his play mower beside me. Or when he tries to follow me up a ladder to fix the roof. Or when he emulates my love for comedy by doing his own routine, even if we can’t understand his gibberish yet. It is incredibly rewarding to see how hard I work and play replicated him, and soon enough my newborn.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
My dad wasn’t around when I was a kid, so I didn’t grow up with a good example of a father. I want to be the dad I didn’t have. I want my boys to always count on me to be there every step of their childhood and beyond. Whether that’s playing and being silly, teaching them numbers, answering their difficult questions, teaching them about work ethic, or preparing them for their wedding day, I will always strive to be the dad I didn’t have but needed.
How would you use the $25,000?
We are currently renting a home that doesn’t fit the needs of our growing family. Being super dad means I want to make sure my kids and wife are taken care of. $25K would put us in our own home, providing childhood stability, a safe neighborhood, and space to surprise the kids with a puppy someday. Moving around to different rentals doesn’t foster a stable environment, and I would like to free my family from that burden.
