Being able to watch them grow, hitting each new stage of life has been so rewarding for me. And it is so fun to see how much they enjoy the simple things in life, sometimes things we take for granted in adulthood. For example, something as mundane as mowing the lawn is the highlight of my son’s week. It makes me excited to watch his eyes light up when we do things together, and quite frankly it makes my life that much more enjoyable as well.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
I strive to be the best dad that I can be because my father did the same for me. Looking back, I realize how much he sacrificed for our family growing up. I want to be that same kind of father figure. I want to put my kids first, teach them right from wrong, and ultimately make the best impact upon their lives. I think that if I am striving to be the best version of myself, then they will feel that type of unconditional love.
How would you use the $25,000?
Being younger parents and recently entering our respective career paths, I believe the money would give us more flexibility to allow us to provide new adventures for our kids. We really enjoy camping, being outside, and generally just doing things as a family. This money would allow us to not only do that, but in return not have to worry as much about balancing fun with finances. I would like to take my family somewhere we have never been together, most likely Disney World.
