The most rewarding part is watching my kids grow into good people and knowing that, no matter how old they get or where life takes them, I got to be their dad through all of it and giving them a memory of a dad that always showed up.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
More than anything, I think I want to leave behind people who are better because I was their father. Not perfect people, and not copies of me, good people who know how to love their families, work hard, stand up for others, keep going when things hurt, and show up when they’re needed.
How would you use the $25,000?
I’d probably use a large chunk to strengthen things at home, pay something down, take care of something the family needs, or put money away so there’s a little more breathing room. With seven kids, $25K can develop an allergy to staying $25K pretty quickly. Then I think I would want to put some toward creating memories with my wife and the kids. I’d try to turn that 25,000 into something that makes our lives better.
