You learn to sacrifice a life where it's all about you and turn that focus to your children. To see my daughters growing up and to be a part of their lives is so rewarding. All three have wildly different personalities and interests. It's so fun to watch. Even being with my middle daughter when she was going through leukemia, showed me such a high level of courage, strength, and perseverance. Even though she was born with down syndrome, she has many strengths I wish I had.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
I grew up without a dad, but thankfully had someone come into my life at an early age that helped that void through the Big Brother Big Sister program. I don't want that feeling of loneliness to be felt by my children. I also want my Christian faith not to be just talk, but to be expressed by how I live my life. To serve my wife and children is something that is everything to me.
How would you use the $25,000?
Our goal of becoming homeowners is something that we are slowly grinding towards. I would use the money to help with that.
