Seeing the joy on the faces of my two kids as they run towards me when I return for work. They jump up and down in excitement as I climb the stairs to where they are and give me the biggest hugs. Not only that, but noticing them studying their mom and me and watching them develop their own personalities, figuring out right and wrong and thriving in the simple joys in life, like dancing, playing pretend and attending events as a family. My daughter Haylee loves to say "Our whole family is here!"
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
Personally, it is an absolute must that I am the best dad I can possibly be because I have been diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer. I don't know how much time I have left with my kids. The doctors gave it 5 or so year. We are hoping its more. But if thats the time I have, I need my kids to remember me in the most fond ways. I want to show them unconditional love in a short time that will last their entire live. I want them to remember me and be comforted by what an impact I had in their young lives
How would you use the $25,000?
I would put it away for Haylee and Wesley. I would make sure it could grow in an account that would help them as they become adults, as the future is so unknown and financial stability is a scary thing, especially if I am not around to help them through it. Although, I am not going to lie, we may take a couple bucks and go to DisneyLand, because I also want to make as many core memories with my kids as I can while I am still around.
