I feel like seeing them happy is the most rewarding. My children know I will always be there no matter their problems and that gives them a sense of relief. I have watched children struggle to talk to their parents about the smallest things and the anxiety it creates. My kids know I have an open door to talk with no judgement. To see their relief when they talk about it and the happiness that we worked it out with each other is amazing.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
I want my kids to have a better life than mine. My childhood was crazy but it wasn’t great. Brought up in a time when men couldn’t talk about their feelings and bottle it up. My sons need to know that there is more than that. They can be a man and still express how they feel. Making sure they understand how to express themselves is my number one priority.
How would you use the $25,000?
I would finally get to keep my promise to my boys and upgrade some of their things. Get tools to keep showing them how to work with their hands and more than likely use it to take them somewhere special that I couldn’t do before.
