Seeing the little mannerisms show up in how I raise my daughter. Her starting to take interest in my hobbies and passions, her starting to take on her own interests and becoming a unique individual. I love seeing her pick up on the things we try to teach her, especially being kind, having empathy for other people and treating people with respect. It’s pretty amazing when you realize that the little things you say and do are actually starting to become a part of who she is.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
I was raised by a single mom and didn’t really have a present father growing up. My mom did an amazing job raising me, but not having that relationship with my dad definitely made me want to work harder to be there for my own daughter. I want her to always know that she has someone in her corner. I want to be the dad she can count on and give her the love and support that every kid deserves.
How would you use the $25,000?
A big part of it would go towards the medical costs from my wife’s leukemia treatments. It’s been a really tough couple of years for our family and the financial side of it has definitely added another layer of stress. I’d also use some of it to do some renovations around our house and make it more of a home for our family. I love working on my own home and tackling projects myself.
