Becoming a first-time father and building the gym at the same time wasn’t easy. I had to miss a lot of bedtime stories and goodnight kisses. My wife would FaceTime me at the site at night with Lenny and I’ll always remember the first time he recognized my face on the screen (even though I was covered in plaster and sawdust); he made this huge smile when he heard my voice. I was deliriously tired, sore and stressed I wouldn’t finish the build in time, but it was still the greatest moment ever.🙏❤
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
I think about this a lot. How do I teach him all the right stuff as he grows up? Do I let him make his own mistakes like I did or try to be overprotective? What am I gonna do if he doesn’t like rebuilding engines or woodworking with me one day? What happens when he starts asking me all the questions and I may not have all the right answers? I can get caught up in these thoughts and then I remember: all I really know I can get right is showing up for him. We can figure the rest out together.
How would you use the $25,000?
We’d like to build a dedicated space for kids at the gym so we can watch them and run baby boot camps while parents attend classes.
