Watching each of my kids become their own person & knowing I get to help give them the foundation to become who they’re meant to be. With four young kids, including my special needs kiddo, the wins can look very different from day to day. Nothing makes me prouder than seeing them happy, confident, doing what they love, and knowing Dad is always present, cheering them on and proud of who they are. Getting to experience all of those little moments alongside my wife makes it even more meaningful.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
I want my kids to grow up remembering that their dad showed up despite his own crazy schedule. I am not perfect, but want them to know that I was present, worked hard for our family, coached them, encouraged them, made them laugh and was there when life was difficult. I want to teach them through my actions what hard work, compassion, perseverance and family mean. If they grow up feeling deeply loved and knowing they can always count on me, then I’ve done the most important job I’ll ever have.
How would you use the $25,000?
I would spend every penny on my kids. I would add extra speech/occupational therapy sessions for my non-verbal autistic son, I’d make contributions to their 529 plans, and maybe even do a family trip to Disney World.
