The most rewarding part of being a dad is knowing the little hands reaching for my tools today will someday become men who remember what I taught them. They may think we’re just fixing a truck, building something in the yard, or working side by side—but I know I’m building more than that. I’m teaching them to work hard, take care of their family, and always show up. One day they’ll outgrow my toolbox, but I hope they never outgrow the lessons we built together.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
I strive to be the best dad I can be because someday my boys won’t need me to hold their hand, fix what’s broken, or show them how something works. But they’ll carry with them the example I gave them. I want them to remember a dad who worked hard, showed up, loved them fiercely, and always made time for them. My greatest responsibility isn’t just raising good kids—it’s raising good men who will one day be great dads, too.
How would you use the $25,000?
Winning $25,000 would give our family some breathing room by helping us pay down debt, but more importantly, it would help us finish something we’ve been working hard toward together—our barn and fencing. We could finally bring our horse home and give our boys a place to grow up learning responsibility through 4-H and agricultural projects. It wouldn’t just help us build a barn; it would help us build a childhood full of hard work, animals, family, and memories.
