The most meaningful part of being a dad is knowing my children see me as a source of strength and guidance. Surviving cancer and enduring demanding 48 hour paramedic shifts have challenged me deeply, but I choose to stay positive for their sake. I want my kids to understand that no matter how hard life gets, we can always keep moving forward. Seeing them grow, learn from my example, and develop into strong, compassionate individuals makes every sacrifice feel truly worthwhile.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
I strive to be the best dad I can be because my children are my reason to keep going. Surviving cancer taught me how precious life is, while working stressful 48hour shifts has taught me sacrifice and perseverance. Even when I am exhausted or facing challenges, I stay positive for my kids. I want my kids to learn from my example that life can be difficult, but we should never lose hope, stop fighting, or give up on ourselves.
How would you use the $25,000?
I would use the $25,000 to take my family on a well-deserved vacation—something I haven’t been able to do because of medical hardships, financial responsibilities, and working stressful 48-hour shifts. After surviving cancer, I understand that time and memories with my family are priceless. This vacation would allow us to step away from everyday stress, enjoy life together, and give my children an experience they will always remember.
