For me the most rewarding part of being a dad is just seeing him smile when he sees me. That might be simple but to just be his dad I’ve had to fight the court system every step. When the divorce started I was stationed overseas so the court couldn’t give me any physical time so it all went to her. All I was given was video calls for 10 months until I finally I left the navy to be with him. He lives 1000 miles from my home state and I left my navy career just to be present.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
One day someone has to take care of me when I’m old so I gotta be nice now so he is nice to me. Joking of course. I strive to be the best so Hudson can be the best he can be. Being a father means I am one of the most influential people in my sons life. If I fail he will fail and that’s not an option.
How would you use the $25,000?
The 25k will be used quite literally so I can be more present as a dad. If I won I could afford to fight the court more and be more present as a father. I have 18k in lawyer and court debt. I’d pay that off then use the rest to go back to court and fight for more time with my son.
