The most rewarding thing about being a father is watching Jules and Jett grow into their own little people while knowing I’m right there for every milestone kindergarten events, the first day of preschool, the everyday chaos and still getting to model what service, grit, and heart look like. Between running Veteran Thrift solo to change veterans’ lives, studying business full-time, and renovating our home. Nothing beats being present for my girls with Jessi by my side.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
I strive to be the best dad I can be because I grew up with a single mother and missed having that father figure in my own childhood. The only real role model I’ve ever had is integrity itself and the chance to pass that forward to Jules and Jett so they never have to wonder what it felt like to look over at a sports event and see an empty seat. I am a dad who shows up, stays present, and leads by example.
How would you use the $25,000?
I’d use every bit of that $25,000 on the wedding and the ring we still need to make our marriage official. Jessi and I have been together so long, but we’ve always put our own couple needs on the back burner so we could build our life, raise Jules and Jett, go to school, and keep helping everyone else. It’s hard to carve out time for a wedding when you’re running full throttle, but this money would finally let us celebrate us; no more putting it off.
