Being a dad was something I grew up wanting so bad. We were blessed with our first born in 2023, and our second this year. Watching Sawyer grow up and become a big brother was the most amazing thing. Showing him how to play, feed,care for his sister brought me so much joy. I worked 50 hours a week to make sure my wife could stay home with the kids. Watching them grow is amazing. Then Sawyer got sick, and we fought so hard to find out what was going on to try and save him. We miss him so much.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
I strive to be the best dad so I can give our kids the life they deserve. With Sawyers passing, we are going to make sure Lexi knows everything about her older brother and how amazing and fun he was. Most importantly, how much he loved her. Sawyer was symptomatic, diagnosed and passed within a month. We fought so hard to get him the best care we could.
How would you use the $25,000?
My wife and I are wanting to start a non for profit in Sawyer’s name for families like ours. We want to help kids and their families that are going through emotional and financial struggles however we can. We started a card writing club called Sawyer’s Cards of Courage and with this club, we write to kids battling cancer to lift up their spirits.
