The most rewarding part of being a dad is getting to be so many different things to him — his best friend, his teacher, his coach, and sometimes even an obstacle for him to overcome. No matter the role I’m playing, I’ll always be there to push him, support him, and encourage him to become the best version of himself. Watching him grow, learn, and find his own way is one of the greatest rewards of being his dad.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
I don’t believe the goal is to mold my son in my image or to be the “best dad ever.” My goal is to be the best dad I can be for him. To show him what it means to be a great father, a fun dad, a loving husband, and a good man. My father’s goal was to raise me better than he was, and mine is to raise my son better than I was. I want him to learn from my strengths, my mistakes, and become better than me.
How would you use the $25,000?
I wish I could say every dime of this money would go straight toward our future. Some of it absolutely would be invested, and maybe we’d even take a small family vacation once life finally settles down. But the truth is, we’re still preparing for our growing family. There’s always another house project, a car repair, a baby-proofing task, or something else that needs attention. This money would help take some of that weight off our shoulders and allow us to focus on our family and future.
